What Are LED Back-Lit Panel Lights?
LED back-lit flat panel lights are ultra-thin, edge-to-edge illumination fixtures that mount in standard grid ceilings or with surface-mount kits. Unlike edge-lit panels that can show hot spots near the perimeter, back-lit panels use direct LED placement behind the diffuser for perfectly uniform light distribution with zero visible hot spots. LIBULBS INFINITY series panels are available in 1x4, 2x2, and 2x4 configurations with DLC Premium certification, dual-mode occupancy and daylight sensors, and 0-10V dimming for full building automation compatibility.
Key Features
- Edge-to-edge uniform illumination — zero hot spots or dark edges
- DLC Premium certified — maximum utility rebate eligibility
- Integrated dual-mode sensors — occupancy and daylight behind the lens
- Ultra-thin profile — less than 2.25 inches deep
- Surface mount kits available — for spaces without grid ceilings
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between back-lit and edge-lit LED panels?
Back-lit panels place LEDs directly behind the diffuser, producing uniform light with zero hot spots. Edge-lit panels place LEDs along frame edges, creating a thinner profile but with potential brightness variation near the edges.
